Tottenham star Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch as Denmark took on Finland at Euro 2020 with paramedics rushing on the pitch to help the stricken midfielder
Christian Eriksen was seen receiving CPR after collapsing on the pitch during Denmark’s Euro 2020 clash with Finland.
Eriksen started for the Danes though went down off the ball around the 40 minute mark with paramedics rushing onto the pitch.
Denmark players were clearly shaken with TV pictures showing former Tottenham star Eriksen receiving CPR.
His team-mates, including Kasper Schmeichel, were in tears as Eriksen received treatment in Copenhagen while others were seen praying.
Referee Anthony Taylor was quick to react to enable the paramedics onto the pitch, with treatment continuing for several minutes.
Denmark players provided a shield around Eriksen, 29, to give the Inter Milan ace and paramedics some privacy.
Eriksen was eventually seen being stretchered off, still receiving oxygen from paramedics.
Officials had been seen talking with communication believed to be over whether the game should continue at all with the match soon suspended.
UEFA sent out word that he’d been “stablilised.” The Danish FA also confirmed that Eriksen was awake
Following the medical emergency involving Denmark’s player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET.
The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised.
